Our EMS department is proud to be available to you and your loved ones 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year for around-the-clock service for our friends, family and neighbors in the Central and Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan and Northern Wisconsin. NORTHSTAR Health System EMS has 18 professionally trained staff members: -9 EMTs - Certified in Basic life Support and trained in First Trauma Care. -9 Paramedics - Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support and trained in First Trauma Care. To better serve your emergency needs, NORTHSTAR Health System EMS maintains four fully-equipped, advanced life support ambulances at its base stations in Iron River and Crystal Falls. NORTHSTAR Health System EMS offers professional emergency pre-hospital and interfacility transport care, utilizing advanced technology and equipment to give our paramedics the necessary tools to treat acute medical problems and trauma prior to arrival at our NHS Emergency Department.
